How to Use Vin Tokens, Special Characters, and Other Special Hyperlinks in Email Templates
At VinSolutions, we are dedicated to bringing our customers the tools they need to make the most of their CRM software. That’s why we’re introducing a new way to easily and seamlessly work with hyperlinks in email templates. Now, you’ll be able to use Vin tokens, and other special characters, in hyperlinks in emails. This new feature will save time and reduce the overall length of the email, as well as help you avoid potential HTML or Javascript errors that could impact the delivery of the email. And what’s more, it’s very easy to use! All you need to do is to install the plugin on your VinSolutions CRM and then enable it in the email template editor.
To be able to use Vin tokens, special characters, and other special hyperlinks, the email template editor will need to encode and decode these special hyperlinks. By default, it will encode all special characters, even if they are normal characters. For example, the car dealer may want to use the [VEHICLE MAKE] token in the URL if the customer’s primary vehicle is a Corvette.
The new feature will allow you to set different special hyperlinks for each user. Also, it is possible to remove the URL and the [VEHICLE MAKE] token from the email. In this case, the dealer may send the email by removing the special hyperlink and saving the URL. Then, when the template is loaded from the customer dashboard, it will replace the special hyperlink with the customer-specific information.
